The News Minute| April 2, 2015| 2.30 pm ISTTwenty-three year old Sajan may not have turned into a Kafkaesque gigantic spider but he woke up on Wednesday to find out that he was apparently dead.Sajan was getting ready to turn up for a new job on Wednesday, but, to his utter bewilderment, he spent the entire morning persuading relatives that he was very much alive.The cause for all this confusion was an obituary that had appeared in the local edition of Malayalam daily Malayalam Manorama announcing his death along with his photograph.A picture posted on Facebook to tell friends he was alright Having seen the announcement of his “death”, relatives began to turn up at his house in Pathanamthitta district in Kerala.In the midst of it all, Sajan claims his new employers called him to tell him that he need not take up his new appointment as his “death” was apparently “inauspicious”.Sajan told The News Minute that he suspects that he was the victim of an April Fools’ Day prank but has no clue who could have done it. He also said that he is not contemplating any legal action.But he did call up the newspaper that very day informing them of his good health. The newspaper promised to publish a correction for having carried the advertisement and have done so on Thursday.Tweet
