The News Minute | December 19, 2014 | 1.15 pm ISTA Kerala family court on Thursday ordered a woman to pay alimony to her husband as he had lost his job following a fake police complaint given by her.Kasaragod district family court has directed Nivya to pay her husband, Sivaprasad, Rs 6000 per month as alimony. The couple had got married in 2011 and five months after the marriage they were separated and Nivya filed a complaint alleging that Sivaprasad kidnapped and raped her. But later a police enquiry proved that it was a fake complaint.Meanwhile Nivya registered a divorce petition at family court in 2013 and following that Sivaprasad had also filed a petition seeking alimony. In his petition to the family court he has alleged that because of the fake rape case, which was big news in media, he lost his job and it also caused harm to his reputation.Read : 'I clung on'... Domestic violence survivors speak out“In 2011 she had given a police complaint and we enquired about it and found out that it was false. We got the proof that they had gone for honeymoon to places like Wayanad. We had submitted all the enquiry details in court “says an officer at Kasaragod police station.“Their marriage was registered in Enmakaje panchayath in 2011. We had also charged a case against Nivya for fake complaint and when she approached high court for anticipatory bail in 2012, HC had criticized and stated that law cannot be misused to take personal revenge” he addedPolice said that the court has ordered alimony considering the fact that Nivya is a lecturer in a college and Sivaprasad is unemployed.
