KCR meets Uma Bharati; requests 100 crore for implementation of water and irrigation projects

The News Minute | December 9, 2014 | 4:10 pm ISTTelangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao met Union minister for water resources, Uma Bharati on Monday during the former’s two day visit to Delhi and urged the latter to discuss funds for Mission Kakatiya, under which water tanks are restored.KCR also visited Bharati for the inauguration of Mission Kakatiya under which the Telangana government is planning the restoration of nearly 45,000 tanks over the next five years.According to a report in the Times of India, KCR also explained the various irrigation projects being taken up by the state government and requested for Rs 100 crore for implementation of the various projects.Uma Bharati in a statement to the media added that the centre would extend support to the state and a meeting would be scheduled soon to decide the details of the various projects.
