The daily power shortage stands at 1,000 MW, energy minister D K Shivakumar informed the Assembly.The state's over dependence on hydel power projects is one reason why the state faces a shortage. The realisation from hydel power plants is just 32%.Power cuts upto 3 hours has become common in most parts of state including Bangalore. A weak monsoon is expected to hit the state's power supply even more.
