Kannada star Ganesh has requested his fans not to celebrate his birthday this year which is falling on July 2. Ganesh took it to Twitter to request his fans not to celebrate his birthday this year as his father passed away a few months ago.

Ganesh added that his fans not should not spend money on cakes and banners, and donate it to orphanages and old age homes instead.

On the work front, Ganesh recently wrapped up shooting for his next film titled, Geetha. The film is directed by debutant Vijay Nagendra, who was an associate of director Santhosh Anandram. It has three women actors in the star cast – Prayaga Martin, Parvathy Arun and Shanvi Srivastava. The film is jointly produced by Golden Films and producer Syed Salam. The technical crew of this film includes V Harikrishna for music and Sreesha Kuduvalli for cinematography.  

The star also has another project titled Gimmick in his kitty. Touted to be a horror comedy, Gimmick is being directed by Naganna. A major portion of the film has been shot at a house in Sri Lanka with some portions in Mysuru and Bengaluru. It may be noted here that Gimmick is Ganesh’s first attempt in trying a horror comedy. A scene from this film was unveiled on the official page of Anand Audio, and a song was also released as a part of the promotions.

Ganesh’s most recent release is 99, which is a remake of the 2018 Tamil film 96. The remake had Ganesh and Bhavana reprising the roles of Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha from the original, and Hemanth and Samiksha played the younger version of the lead pair in 99. Directed by Preetham Gubbi, the film has music by Arjun Janya. The film happened to be music director Arjun Janya’s 100th film. Its cinematography is handled by Santhosh Rai Pathaje. The film was produced under the banner of Ramu Enterprises.
