The Kannada film Bazaar released to positive buzz on February 1 with good theatre occupancy.  Even before its release, its Hindi dubbing rights were sold for a good amount. And now we hear that a few film producers are queuing up for the remake rights. If things go well, Bazaar may be remade in Tamil.

The film is directed by Suni of Simple Agi Ondh Love Story fame. This 2013 release was a commercial success as well as critically acclaimed. He then went on to wield the megaphone for movies such as Bahuparak, Simple Agi Innondh Love Story and Operation Alamelamma. Suni has also penned the dialogues for movies such as Chowka and Happy New Year.

Bazaar was originally planned as a Sankaranthi release but it had to be put off for various reasons. One of the reasons for the delay was that the filmmakers had a tough time procuring the ‘No Objection’ certificate from the Animal Welfare Board. Finally, with the certificate being obtained and the film being censored with a UA certificate, it is all set for release on February 1.

Bazaar stars Dhanveerrah and Aditi Prabhu in the lead roles and it will mark the former’s debut in the film industry. Sharath Lohitashwa and Sadhu Kokila play supporting roles in this flick. The film’s technical crew includes Ravi Basrur for music and Santosh Pataje for cinematography. It was bankrolled by Thimmegowda under his banner Bharathi Film Productions.

Bazaar is about pigeon racing and the gambling involved in it. To maintain authenticity, the film was shot extensively in Bengaluru, Mysuru and Tumakuru where the pigeon races are actually held.

Details about the Tamil remake of Bazaar are expected to be revealed soon.
