Vijay Deverakonda is now busy with the Anand Annamalai directorial Hero. The shooting of this film began recently and is going well. The latest update about this movie is that the Kannada actor Diganth will be playing Vijay Deverakonda’s mentor in it.

Diganth, who has been lying low for quite a while now, is reported to have told in an interview, “I play the brother to Malavika Mohanan, the leading lady in the film. I am the owner of a big racing company and a racer myself in the film. I find a young amateur biker off the streets and mentor him. This is Vijay’s character in the film. On the shooting progressing in Noida, he said, “The circuit is very busy, so we’ve got to shoot only when they’re free. But, I’m completely thrilled about this film, which sees two of my biggest passions, bikes, and acting coming together.”

Director Anand Annamalai, the dialogue writer for the critically acclaimed film Kakka Muttai, is directing this film. Reports are that it is a sport's musical. In this movie, Vijay Deverakonda will be playing a professional biker and has undergone rigorous training for the role. To be released in Telugu, Tamil and Kannada, the film will be bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers.

It may be noted here that the muhurat of this film happened in Hyderabad with director Koratala Siva sounding the clapboard. Plans are on to release this film in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.

While Hero is in progress, Vijay Deverakonda is gearing up for the release of Dear Comrade next month. It is an action drama film written and directed by Bharat Kamma and is produced jointly by Mythri Movie Makers and Yash Rangineni. Rashmika reunited with Vijay Deverakonda as female lead after the blockbuster Geeta Govindam. The film is set in the backdrop of Kakinada. Rashmika is seen as a female cricketer.
