Director Lakshman’s Bogan, which had Jayam Ravi and Arvind Swami in the lead and had released earlier this year to critical acclaim, and is all set to be remade in Telugu with Ravi Teja in the lead.

Catherine Tresa was initially signed on to play the leading lady and she even tweeted that she's excited to be part of the project. However, it looks like she might be replaced by Kajal Aggarwal for reasons yet unknown.

Apparently, the makers have already approached Kajal and it'll be interesting to see if the makers manage to get her on board, as she's a much major star and is widely popular in Telugu filmdom.

Lakshman will direct the remake as well. However, slight changes will be made to the project to suit Telugu sensibilities.

“The second half in the remake will be even more intense and emotional. Since Telugu audiences like more emotional content, some minor changes will be made in the climax,” a source said.

Unlike Thani Oruvan, which was remade in Telugu as Dhruva and saw Arvind Swami reprising his own role, the Roja actor won’t be part of Bogan remake for reasons yet unknown.

The female lead, once selected, will be essaying Hansika’s character in the remake. The project was supposed to go on the floors earlier this year but due to Ravi Teja’s prior commitments, the plan had to be pushed.

The regular shooting will now commence from Hyderabad. The makers hope to wrap up the project in flat three months. Imman had composed music for the original and he might be retained for the remake.

Meanwhile, Ravi Teja is busy with two other Telugu projects. In Raja The Great, which is slated for release in October, he plays a blind character. In Touch Chesi Chudu, he is said to be playing a rough-and-tough cop.

With no releases in the last two years, Ravi has been working non-stop over the last six month and has almost finished work on both of the projects.
