Having delivered her career-best performance in Bala’s Naachiyaar, in which she played a fearless, hot-headed, profanity-spurting cop, Jyothika will soon commence work on Mani Ratnam’s multi-starrer Chekka Chivantha Vaanam. The project will see Jyothika share screen space with Arvind Swami, Vijay Sethupathi, Simbu, Arun Vijay, Aishwarya Rajesh and Aditi Rao Hydari.

Presently, busy shooting at ECR in the city, reports have emerged that she might next reunite with Mozhi director Radha Mohan for the Tamil remake of Vidya Balan’s heartwarming Tumhari Sulu. However, official confirmation is awaited.

Apparently, Radha Mohan is said to have already been signed on for the project and Jyothika is expected to sign on the dotted line very soon. According to a source, Jyothika recently watched the film and was really moved by Vidya’s performance.

However, she’s yet to give her nod as she’s busy with Mani Ratnam’s project and it has already taken up bulk dates from her. Therefore, she’s still in talks with the makers of Tumhari Sulu remake.

Jyothika is also excited about the project as it will give her an opportunity to work with Radha Mohan again after they won hearts with Mozhi, in which she played a character with speaking and hearing impediment.

In Tumhari Sulu, which was a money-spinner at the box-office, the story revolves around a woman, essayed by Vidya Balan, who comes across an opportunity to become an RJ for an unconventional show and grabs it with both hands, unapologetically and manages to upend her home and family life in the process.

Vidya’s performance as Sulu impressed audiences and critics alike and earned her a few awards as well. The movie was jointly produced by Ellipsis Entertainment and T-Series Films.
