Music director Shaan Rahman’s Jimikki Kammal song has turned out to be a phenomenal hit among music buffs.

It has become so popular that different versions of the song are now doing rounds.

Amidst this massive success, music composer Shaan Rahman had to face allegations of plagiarism with some claiming that Jimikki Kammal was copied from a Gujarati song.

Putting an end to this controversy, Shaan clarified that the Gujarati song was, in fact, one of the versions of Jimikki Kammal made by Red FM. His post in this regard on Facebook was: “The video that these miscreants are spreading was an initiative by RED FM Gujarat. You can see the logo of Red FM at bottom of the said Video. And this video has my voice as well.”

He went on to add: “Red FM RJs all over India has created their own different versions of our Jimikki kammal. We're so excited and proud of it. This video is just one among the multiple versions shot by Red FM.”

Shaan Rahman ended the note with “Jimikki kammal is our very own song. Nammude swantham paattaanu makkale,” putting to rest all rumours about plagiarism.

The song "Entammede Jimikki Kammal" was written by Anil Panachooran with Vineeth Sreenivsan and Renjith Unni rendering it. The song featured in Velipadite Pusthakam, starring Mohanlal, was one of the biggest hits of the year.

The film, directed by Lal Jose, also featured Anoop Menon, Anna Rajan, Priyanka Nair, Salim Kumar and Chemban Vinod Jose. Bankrolled by Antony Perumbavoor under his banner Aashirvad Cinemas, the film hit the marquee on August 31 this year. Shaan Rahman had composed music for this film with Vishnu Sharma cranking the camera and Ranjan Abraham editing it.
