The trailer of Nayanthara’s most awaited Imaikkaa Nodigal directed by R Ajay Gnanamuthu has been released.

The trailer begins with Anurag Kashyap, who will be making his acting debut in Tamil, confessing his love for… wait for it… killing people. The film seems to be a cat and mouse chase between Rudra (played by Anurag) and Anjali (played by a very stylish Nayanthara). The film’s trailer has gripping moments, action-packed sequences and a good dose of romance between Atharva and Raashi Khanna.

The trailer also has Nayanthara mouthing swear words followed by Anurag’s sarcastic laughter.

Atharvaa and Raashi Khanna play medical students in the film. Atharvaa also plays Nayanthara’s brother. Vijay Sethupathi makes a fleeting appearance, asking, "Are you ok, baby?” in Naanum Rowdy Dhaan style.

An earlier statement released by Anurag Kashyap about the film read, “What pulled me towards acting in Imaikkaa Nodigal is the role. Rudra is not your typical baddie. He doesn’t just smoke, drink, order his men around and indulge in item numbers. He is menacing, scary, smart and cunning. This strange mixture that forms the role is what tempted me to take it up although I was tied up with my own projects back in Mumbai. When the audiences watch the movie in theatre, if I’m able to evoke the tiniest of fears in them, as Rudra, I’ll consider my work done.”

Imaikkaa Nodigal is directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu of Demonte Colony fame. He had worked with ace director AR Murugadoss as his assistant before going on to direct films on his own. This crime thriller has music composed by Hip Hop Thamizha with RD Rajasekhar handling the cinematography and Bhuvan Srinivasan editing the film.
