Kumara Sangakkara may be inching towards 40, but the rigours of age do not seem to have slowed down the former Sri Lankan international’s reflexes one bit.
While standing behind the stumps in a Pakistan Super League match between Karachi Kings and Islamabad United on Thursday evening, Sangakkara pulled off a spectacular catch to send back Dwayne Smith.
Smith had slashed hard at a delivery from Mohammad Amir and the ball seemed destined for the fence. But Sangakkara literally rolled back the years as he dived to his right and took a stunning one-handed catch.
