Hyundai Motor India Limited will unveil the special anniversary edition of its all successful Hyundai Creta SUV to celebrate its first anniversary on July 7. Launched last year, the Creta met with great success crossing 1.3 lakh bookings and 80,000 unit sales or deliveries within its first year.
While the price and all other details of the anniversary edition will be announced on July 7, the launch event will see Badminton sensation Saina Nehwal being gifted the SUV for winning the Australian Open 2016.
This anniversary edition will feature cosmetic changes on both the exterior and the interior with no mechanical changes. There will be side decals, leather upholstery on seats and interiors, contrasting roof paint with body paint, Blaupunkt touchscreen infotainment display, anniversary badge on tailgate, etc. Seat covers will also look funkier, while door sills will be illumined. A car refrigerator may also be on offer as an optional accessory.
The Hyundai Creta is powered by the 1.4-liter and 1.6-liter diesel and 1.6-liter petrol engines. The 1.6-liter VTVT petrol engine is known to develop 121 bhp and 151 Nm of torque. The 1.6-liter CRDi diesel engine produces 126 bhp and 259 Nm of torque. These two higher capacity engines get either an optional 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.
The lower powered 1.4-liter CRDi diesel engine is tuned to develop 89 bhp and 220 Nm of torque, and it is mated to a manual transmission as standard. The price of these multiple SUV trims range from Rs. 9.15 lakh to Rs. 14.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Hyundai Creta anniversary edition may be priced around Rs. 35,000 higher than the top-end SX variant (with the 1.6-liter VTVT engine), on which the anniversary edition will be built upon. Hyundai will launch the anniversary edition of the Hyundai Creta only as a special limited edition.
