Hyperpure by Zomato today has opened its second farm-fresh and quality multi-product warehouse in Delhi. Spread across 40,000 sq ft, the warehouse is designed to supply 5,000 metric ton capacity per month and equipped to serve 3,000 restaurants every day. This is its second warehouse after it opened the first in Bengaluru in March.

Hyperpure by Zomato provides restaurants with fresh ingredients at competitive prices. Using an end-to-end technology-driven platform, restaurants can buy everything from vegetables and fruits, poultry (including antibiotic residue-free chicken), groceries, meats, seafood, and dairy; to beverages, and even eco-friendly packaging. The Delhi warehouse — first of three Zomato will be launching — gives Hyperpure access to over 35,000 restaurants listed in NCR on Zomato.

“We believe Zomato is uniquely placed to shape the future of food. With Hyperpure by Zomato, we’ve been able to disintermediate the supply chain, providing restaurateurs access to fresh, clean, fully-traceable food ingredients. This takes us a step further along the food value chain, creating greater affordability for farmers and restaurateurs, and improving the accessibility of quality food to our users. With plans to launch 20 more warehouses by the end of 2020, we want to create a dependable demand-supply cycle of clean ingredients, for a future where everybody is eating quality food,” Gaurav Gupta, Co-founder & COO, Zomato, said in a statement.

Launched in August 2018, Hyperpure by Zomato is a first-of-its-kind initiative allowing users to trust that the food they are eating is made using fully-traceable, quality ingredients. Zomato claims that this is solving a number of supply-chain problems, simultaneously building a more ecological model with plans to integrate rainwater harvesting, and composting for waste.

“India's food sector is unique and to ensure that the food servicing sector gets high-quality ingredients, public and private sector partnerships are imperative. Food suppliers and aggregators need to take care of food safety and hygiene and ensure that quality product reaches the end user. I congratulate Zomato on the role they are playing in building a safe and hygienic food ecosystem and wish them sustained success in the future,” Pawan Kumar Agarwal, CEO, FSSAI said.

According to Zomato, Hyperpure works directly with a large network of farmers, mills, producers, and processors, and builds and monitors relationships with the source of each of its products. Restaurants can now buy from one source and have their products delivered within 12 hours of placing an order. This enables Zomato to be able to provide the freshest produce available while continuing to build affordability, accessibility and convenience around food.

Commenting on the progress, Dhruv Sawhney, Founder, Hyperpure, said, “Considering the positive response we’ve received in Bengaluru, our expansion into Delhi is a part of Hyperpure’s natural progression. We are certain that our restaurant partners in Delhi will benefit immensely from both Hyperpure’s offer of fresh and quality food products, as well as the competitive pricing we offer. We look forward to continuing this journey that provides Zomato’s users access to good food prepared using fresh and clean ingredients.”

By 2020, the company plans to open 20 more warehouses across 18 cities, targeting a combined capacity of 90,000 MT and 700,000 sq. ft.  These cities include Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Nagpur, Lucknow, Vadodara, Coimbatore, Kochi, Agra, Goa, and Surat.
