The Hyderabad High Court on Thursday ordered a probe into 21 colleges that were run by an individual in just five premises in Andhra's Guntur district.

The Times of India reported:

The judge was dealing with a petition filed by Navuluri Madhava Rao, a resident of Prakasam district, urging the court to direct the National Council for Teacher Education and AP government to cancel permission granted to the educational institutions of Sri Vivekananda Vidyasamsthalu Society being run by a person called Syed Rafiq.

The court directed a gazetted officer to visit the five premises, mostly offering B Ed and D Ed courses, and submit a report to the court by August 31.

The report adds that an earlier raid by the ACB on Rafiq's premises saw Rs 44 lakh cash recovered from his possession and a case registered against him.
