Telugu actor Nagarjuna is currently busy with his upcoming flick Manmadhudu 2. The film is being directed by Rahul Ravindran and bankrolled jointly by Nag’s Manam enterprises and P Kiran’s Anandi Art Creations.

According to reports, the director has incorporated two action sequences in the movie to add to its commercial elements, but Nag wants it to be removed. The veteran actor is sure that his fans will want humour more that action and therefore has decided against it, say sources. Well, that seems to be a good move by the hero who is confident on what sells.

The shooting of this film is underway in Hyderabad with the star cast comprising Rakul Preet Singh as the female lead with Vennela Kishore, Lakshmi, Devadarshini, Rao Ramesh and Jhansi in supporting roles. The next schedule of Manmadhudu 2 will happen in Europe, we hear.

Bankrolled jointly by Nag’s Manam Enterprises and Anandi Art Creations, Manmadhudu 2 has music by Chintan Bharadwaj.

Manmadhudu, a 2002 rom com, had Akkineni Nagarjuna in the lead role and he had bankrolled the venture under his home banner Annapurna Studios. The film was a big hit of his career and after all these years, a sequel to it is being made.

Manmadhudu was directed by Vijaya Bhaskar with its story, screenplay and dialogues penned by the ace director Trivikram Srinivas. The film starred Sonali Bendre as Nag’s leading lady with the star cast also including Anshu, Chandra Mohan, Tanikella Bharani, Brahmanandam, Dharmavarapu Subramanyam and Sunil in supporting roles. Its technical crew comprised of Devi Sri Prasad for music, Sameer Reddy for cinematography and A Sreekar Prasad for editing.

On Nag choosing Rahul Ravindran to direct the sequel, we hear that the actor-turned-director impressed the star so much with his debut flick Chi La Sow that fetched him the opportunity to don the director’s robes for the sequel to Manmadhudu.
