Some renders of the forthcoming flagship smartphone to be launched by Huawei have been leaked and though the complete specifications and prices can only be known on October 16 when the Huawei Mate10 Pro will be officially launched, some information can be shared now.
The Huawei Mate10 Pro is likely to be a 6-inch display smartphone with the screen resolution reading 2160x1080pixels for a full HD display. It is also Huawei’s first bezel-free display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 matching the market leaders in the segment.
Huawei appears to have attempted a lot of other improvements in the look and feel of the phone as well. The body seems to be in metal with colorful bands crisscrossing the panel. This is also a dual rear camera setup phone with the physical fingerprint sensor located just below the cameras. More about the cameras later.
The new flagship from Huawei will sport the company’s own Kirin processor. The company claims its latest chipset, the Kirin 970 CPU is far superior to other processors and can offer a clocking speed of as high as 2.8GHz. It is an octa-core unit with one quad-core Cortex A-73 cluster and another Cortex A-53 cluster. A Mali G72 MP8 GPU is there to manage the graphics. The CPU is expected to be good at functions controlled through artificial intelligence.
The RAM could be 4GB or 6GB; there is no information on the internal storage capacity (though some reports suggest it could be 64/128GB) and if the microSD card provision is there are not. The leaks suggest the battery would be 4000mAh. It is also likely that the Android Oreo version 8.0 out of the box would be the OS.
Now coming to the camera setup, Huawei has retained the pervious arrangement of 12MP and 20MP sensors made by Leica with the lenses sporting f/1.6 aperture, which is a first for Huawei and should distinguish this camera setup as a unique one. The expectation is that the front sensor would be 8MP in size.
Reports claim that the Huawei Mate10 Pro would be released in four colors, grey, brown, black and blue.
