A smartphone’s colour may not be only factor on which the buyers may make their decisions, but the Indian mobile phone market is witnessing this unusual phenomenon of companies choosing to launch phones in red colour. The latest to line up a red colour device to its range is the Honor 7X, aptly calling it the Honor 7X Red Limited Edition.

The other 2 smartphones released in red colour in the Indian market are OnePlus 5T and Xiaomi’s Mi A1. With the addition of the red colour, buyers in India can choose the Honor 7X in 4 different colours, Gold, Black, Blue and Red.

The other bit of information about the Honor brand is that the company has started making their devices in India. The manufacturing plant is located close to Chennai and this arrangement is in partnership with Flex and it is in Flex’s plant that the phones are being made.

The Honor 7X comes with a 5.93-inch display housed in an all-metal body and is powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 659 chipset, Huawei’s in-house product. The RAM is a decent 4GB and the internal storage is available in 2 variants, 32GB and 64GB. There is the provision for the microSD card to expand the storage to 256GB. As for the OS, the Honor 7X smartphone, including the Red colour version launched now will continue to run on the Android Nougat version 7.1.1 with which it was originally launched. However, the upgrade to Oreo may not be long in coming. Honor's EMUI 5.1 skin will ride on top of the OS.

On the camera front, there is a dual camera setup in the rear with a 16MP sensor coupled with a 2MP one and the front camera for selfies has an 8MP sensor.

The highlight of the Honor 7X will remain its full, edge-edge display with an aspect ratio of 18:9.

The Honor 7X Red Limited Edition will be sold online, exclusively through Amazon and the price would be Rs 12,999. The ecommerce site is currently accepting registrations and the delivery of the phones may follow soon.
