The News Minute | February 19, 2015 | 4.19 pm IST Chief Minister Siddaramaiah appears to be following in former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa's footsteps when it comes to his preferred mode of travel. As it turns out, Siddaramaiah's expenses on helicopters are proportionate to Yeddyurappa's. In one-and-a-half years, Siddaramaiah's expenses are half of what Yeddyurappa's bills were during his three-year tenure. At this rate, Siddaramaiah's helicopter bills may just exceed the money spent by Yeddyurappa, slightly over Rs 42 crore, and was even known to have choppers on stand-by at the cost of Rs 53 lakh on occasion.  RTI activist T Narasimha Murthy had asked for data on how many chopper rides the CM had taken since becoming chief minister.
