The News Minute | August 7, 2014 | 10.06 am IST Parameshwar says he wanted to be Karnataka CM, ready to settle for deputy CM Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president G Parameshwar's political ambitions have always been open. He is perceived as the force that challenges Chief Minister Siddaramiah. In spite of the Congress forming a government in Karnataka in 2013, Parameshwar, the man credited for a lot of work could not get a cabinet seat as he lost elections. But now Parameshwar has been made a member of the Legislative Council and has openly declared he wants to be deputy Chief Minister. After his birthday celebrations on Wednesday, he said, "If high command gives me responsibility, I am ready to take it." He also said that in 2013 he wanted to become chief minister, but could not secure people's mandate. A meeting of the KPCC backward class unit has endorsed Parameshwar for deputy chief minister.
