Rakul made headlines a few weeks back for returning to Kollywood with a bang, with the Vishal-starrer Thupparivaalan, a crime thriller directed by Mysskin.
When she was recently signed on for Thupparivaalan, it was believed that she’d chosen a wise project to stage her comeback. However, the project which was supposed to go on the floors a few months ago only managed to kick-off earlier this month. This delay in commencement of the project has forced Rakul to walk out of the project as the dates clash with her other films which are already in the pipeline.
As Rakul’s replacement, the makers are planning to rope in Anu Emmanuel, last seen in films such as Action Hero Biju and Majnu. Apparently, Mysskin has already met Anu and is in the process of finalizing her.
In the film, Vishal will be seen as a suave detective along with Prasanna and veteran filmmaker K. Bhagyaraj in an important role.
Having entered Tamil filmdom a few years back with underwhelming films – Thadaiyara Thakka, Puthagam and Yennamo Yedho – Rakul went on to become busy in Tollywood with hits such as Loukyam, Pandaga Chesko, Nannaku Prematho and Sarrainodu. Currently busy with three big Telugu flicks including Mahesh Babu’s film with Murugadoss, Rakul is unarguably the most sought after actress.
