A group of friends in Bengaluru and a techie’s family started their New Year with a painful tragedy when the techie accidently fell off the balcony and died in the wee hours of Friday morning. He was reportedly lying a pool of blood on the floor for more than two hours before neighbours spotted his body and took to him to the hospital, where he was declared dead.
Twenty-seven year old Shivakrishna who worked as lab technician was from Telangana and was living in a house on the second-floor in Whitefield for the past 4 years. According to media reports, Shivakrishna and his friends were partying on New Year’s eve at his house, and around 12 30AM, he stepped out to his balcony to make calls to his friends and family. The last call he made was to his fiancé, according to call data records. CCTV footage reportedly shows that he was sitting on railing of the balcony, and soon after he spoke to his fiancé, he lost balance and fell down.
The incident is reported to have happened around 2AM, but his body was not spotted until 4 30AM, when his neighbours and friends took him to a hospital.
Reports state that a cigarette packet and a lighter were found in the balcony, leading the police to believe that he was smoking on the balcony’s railing after partying. Police are however investigating to rule out any foul-play.
