A man living in Kerala’s Kizhakkambalam is finding immense difficulty in finding a bride for himself, and that’s not because of his physical appearance or financial status, it because he has rented out a portion of his house to the state beverages corporation, Bevco.

Thomas, the potential groom’s father says that no one wants to send their daughter to a place where a Bevco outlet is functioning since they will always have troubles with tipplers.

The Timesof India reports that, the agreement between Thomas and Bevco to lease out a portion of his house expired in March, 2014.

“My son had been working with Mumbai hospital then. On seeing our house the girl's family dropped the proposal. The parents and relatives made it clear that they are not ready to marry off their daughter to such a house. Had the marriage been solemnized my son could have gone to UK where there are a lot of scope for male nurses,'' Thomas told ToI.

“We rarely open the front door or windows of our house. When we, especially female members in the family , open the door, we will have to see tipplers urinating facing our house. All through the day and even night, there would long queue of drunkards,'' he added.

After Thomas rented out the portion of his house to Bevco in 2001, with unbearable troubles the family has approached department requesting to move out. Since the department did not move out they have approached court and the case is still pending. Thomas also said that he has been singled out by his siblings as he rented out the portion to Bevco.
