Golden Crab Film Production, a London-based production company, has acquired the rights to remake Bollywood blockbuster Queen in all South Indian languages.

Golden Crab has entered into an agreement with Staar Movies (filmmaker Thyagarajan) for co-production. The original right of the movie is owned by Viacom18 motion pictures.

Golden Crab and Staar movie have already started shooting under the title of “Vaanil Thedi Nindren” for the Tamil version and have also canned a few scenes with legendary actor Nassar. Recent reports from the media indicate that the movie will be remade in Kannada and will star Parul Yadav in the lead role and Amy Jackson in the role played by Lisa Haydon and will be directed by Ramesh Arvind.

After recent reports that actor-producer Thyagarajan had procured the remake rights of Queen, Golden Crab Production house, in a press release said, “This is absolutely shocking news for us. We have firmly secured the rights for the Bollywood blockbuster Queen and are currently in the process of signing the star cast. All languages are registered with the British Film Institute (BFI) by our companies, which means nobody will be able to register or shoot any of those films in UK or EU. Any other production house(s) claiming the rights to the movie are only imposters. Further announcements on this project will be announced at a later date.”

Queen was a Bollywood blockbuster that won accolades and was a commercial success. Directed by Vikas Bahl, it was produced by Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane, and Madhu Mantena of Viamcom 18 Motion pictures.
