The News Minute | January 7, 2014 | 06:49 pm IST The photograph of a severely wounded woman, said to be dead, has been doing rounds on a messaging platform for around a week . A message accompanying the picture claims that the woman is Anshida and that she was ‘killed’ a month after she married a Hindu man.“In Karela this Muslim girl was married one RSS boy one month ago and she was killed after use bewereof these things”, the note along with the photograph, which has gone viral, reads. In October last year, Anshida, a Muslim lady, had married Gautham, a Hindu man hailing from Kozhikode. The couple were childhood friends, which gradually evolved into a love affair. Their marriage came under critical scrutiny and the couple were on the run for months as her family was against the relationship. 'Quotation gangs' were reportedly searching for the couple who later came back home and got married.( The fake photograph circulating on WhatsApp )But there seems to be no end to their woes, with this fake photograph now doing the rounds. The News Minute spoke to Gautham who rubbished the claims made in the photograph.“My wife is not dead. Since the photograph went viral, we had two visits at our place- one from the Intelligence unit and the other from the state police”, he said. He also mentioned that “People just don’t want to leave us alone. We, in a way, have become accustomed to such rumours”.The photograph is mostly doing rounds in the Gulf countries, he added.Ironically, those who morphed the photograph did not seem to have cared much for carrying out basic fact check. Gautham is not a RSS pracharak, as the message says. He in fact, is a communist. And yes, Gautham and Anshida are living happily.Tweet Read Gautham and Anshida’s story here: Will this Hindu-Muslim couple from Kerala ever be left in peace?
