The Vishwa Hindu Parishad has received support from unexpected quarters in seeking to ban Kamal Hassan’s upcoming film “Uttama villain”.  The Indian National League (INL) has stepped up in agreeing that the movie would hurt the sentiments of Hindus if released, only they went a step further. The INL lodged a police complaint, seeking action against the actor for his attempts to insult religious sentiments of Hindus, reportedPTI . "Through his earlier movie 'Vishwaroopam', Kamal Haasan offended religious sentiments of Muslims and now he is trying to do the same to Hindus through his upcoming movie 'Uttama Villain'," Indian National League Headquarters Secretary M Nazeer Ahammad said after lodging a complaint with the Police Commissionerate in Chennai, according to the report.  He alleged that the actor was trying to get cheap publicity to popularize his movies by raking up controversies, while hurting the religious sentiments of people.  Demanding appropriate police action against him, he said,"How can we allow disturbing public tranquility by those who use the bogey of freedom of expression (through cinema)”.
