The French Embassy in Bengaluru is in a tizzy as it has received a letter warning against French President François Hollande's visit to India.

Hollande, who will be the chief guest at this year’s Republic Day celebrations, is scheduled to land at Chandigarh Air Force Station on January 24.

According to sources, the threat letter is in English and states that the French President should not come to India. The letter was posted to the embassy on January 11.

A case was registered on January 14 at the High Grounds police station in Bengaluru and investigation is going on. 

The letter has reportedly been posted from a Chennai address, but the police have not been able to trace the location yet.
