The magnitude and audacity of the attempt notwithstanding, it left 164 dead and 308 wounded. Twelve terrorists executed bombings at 10 different locations in the city with most of the massacre engulfing South Mumbai. From Leopold Café to Nariman House, at CST and at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel they made their way to the Oberoi, Vile Parle, Cama Hospital, Metro Cinema, Wagi Bunder and finally Girgaum. Hostages were taken, our security forces remained undeterred and after four days, Mumbai rose and carried on. The attack was unprecedented in a modern day bustling metropolitan and bore chilling accounts from spectators, journalists, the police and the ones directly in the line of fire.
