YSRCP Chief Jagan Mohan Reddy’s 3000 km Praja Sankalpa Yatra witnessed drama on Thursday, in Saripally, a tiny village in Narsapuram constituency, when a 25-year-old man tried to breach the security cordon in a bid to meet Jagan.

Upon noticing this, Jagan reportedly let the man through and met him. Siriyala Murali Krishna, a former TDP worker, alleged that he had been mistreated by his party. He claimed he had helped the party during the elections and the leaders promised to give him a job, but had started ignoring him soon after. He added that his father too had been a TDP worker, but the party had neglected him.

On hearing the man’s story, Jagan reportedly extended his support to him and promised to help him. The young man then allegedly threw away his TDP ID card and joined Jagan on the yatra.

Critics, however, have slammed the entire incident as staged.

According to reports, Siriyalu, who hails from Vijayawada, works as a juice maker in Bhimavaram. He said that he finished his Intermediate exams, but discontinued his course in Chartered Accountancy as both his parents passed away.

Speaking to the media after meeting Jagan, Siriyal said, “I came to meet Jagan sir because I don’t have a job. I will now walk with him, and he said he will provide me with a job once they form the government.”

“I worked for the TDP, but they cheated me. I didn’t have any other choice, so I came here,” he added.

The YSRCP yatra, which kicked off in November last year, aims to cover 3,000 km of the state. AP Leader of Opposition Jagan said that it was him aim to meet as many people as possible and understand their problems. While the TDP has slammed the yatra, calling it a publicity stunt, many personalities and film stars in the state have met with Jagan in the course of the yatra.
