The News Minute | December 11, 2014 | 11.23 am ISTAn FIR has been registered against Kerala state’s Finance Minister K.M. Mani in the bar bribe case. The vigilance and anti-corruption bureau (V&ACB) registered the FIR after finding prima facie evidence against the minister. The Left Democratic Front had approached the High Court of Kerala after the V&ACB had cleared the minister of any wrongdoings. The court had initially rejected the plea of LDF convenor Vaikkom Vishwam. However, this order was reversed when the divisional bench of the court directed the V&ACB to take an independent decision on the matter. The case involves the allegation that was made by a bar owner of Kerala, Biju Ramesh. He said that he had paid the minister Rs. 1 crore for obtaining a bar license.
