Even as his Varathan is running in theatres and receiving a lot of appreciation, there is news of actor Fahadh Faasil’s next release. Trance, directed by Anwar Rasheed, is expected to release in March next year. The film is bankrolled under the director’s banner Anwar Rasheed Entertainments.

The first look poster of Trance was released several months earlier and was the talk of the town. It features Fahadh Faasil being seated, on what appears to be a cot, with two pairs of legs hanging right above him. This queer-looking poster has garnered the attention of the film buffs and the expectation levels are soaring up already.

Trance has been scripted by Vadakkan Vincent and along with Fahadh are actors Vinayakan, Soubin Shahir, Chemban Vinod, Sreenath Bhasi and Alphonse Puthran playing important roles. Apart from directing and producing the film, Anwar Rasheed is also handling the camera.

Earlier, when the film was announced, there were reports that Fahadh plays a priest in it but the filmmakers are keeping every other detail about it under wraps.

Anwar Rasheed is wielding the megaphone after a gap of six years. The last film he had directed was the Dulquer Salmaan starrer Ustad Hotel which released in 2012.

Fahadh’s last release before Varathan was Carbon, directed by cinematographer-filmmaker Venu. Interestingly, both Carbon and Varathan give an eerie backdrop being set in the middle of remote places. In Carbon, Fahadh had played a fraudster out to make some quick money, coming to a house in the middle of a forest. And in Varathan he plays an overly calm IT man who moves to his wife’s place in a remote area, where they land into new troubles. The thriller, directed by Amal Neerad and produced by Fahadh’s actor wife Nazriya, has been winning applause. Fahadh has especially come out with another brilliant performance.
