The News Minute | November 20, 2014 | 10:09 am ISTFacebook has launched a new Group app that will allow its users to access all the groups they belong to in one place. The app also allows the users start a new group, track notifications and control notifications that the user would wants to see. The new app is available in all countries on all Android and iOS systems. The app also features a new ‘Discover’ tab that shows a list of ‘suggested’ groups based on the groups that have been previously liked by the user. The Facebook groups app has been integrated with the main Facebook app so users can continue using their old app. When one opens the Group app, the group one interacts with the most shows up first on the screen. The interface of the new app has a striking resemblance with Facebook Messenger.Facebook had earlier removed the chat function from its main app forcing the users to download the Facebook messenger app. In relation to this Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg in his first ever Q&A had said, “On mobile, each app really can focus on doing one thing well, we think. You're probably messaging people 15, 20 times a day, and having to go into an app and wait for it to load and then go through a bunch of steps to get to your messages or send a message is a lot of friction”."What we're trying to do is build a service that's good for everyone. Because Messenger is faster and more focused, if you're using it, you respond to messages faster, we've found."
