Ernakulam District Collector MG Rajamanickam has expressed dismay that among the people who visited Jisha’s mother were a small number of publicity-hungry people.

In a Facebook post on May 5, he wrote about his impressions when he visited Jisha’s mother who has been admitted at the Perumbavoor Taluk Hospital. The post has been shared over 4,500 times.

“For the past three days, I was with the family of Jisha and what I noticed was, one group of people who came to see the mother of the victim were with either a photographer or a video grapher for publicity,” he wrote.

Another group of people was talking, arguing, making hue and cry on social media while others were mere spectators, he added. “After 10 days this energy will go and the family will be left with nothing.”

He also put up the details of the bank account which had been created jointly in the name of the Collector and Jisha’s mother Rajeshwari with the Perumbavoor branch of the State Bank of India.
