Puri Jagannadh’s film with Ram Pothineni, Nabha Natesh and Nidhhi Agerwal titled iSmart Shankar hit the marquee on July 18 and is doing well at the theatres. The director was desperately in need of a big hit and he has scored with iSmart Shankar.
Right from the film’s release, several celebrities have been lauding the efforts of the team including director Puri Jagannadh and Ram Pothineni. The latest to join the list is Ram Charan Teja, who wrote, “Energetic performances by Ram and all the other actors of iSmart Shankar. . CONGRATULATIONS to Puri Garu - the man who put it all together..”

The film was bankrolled by actor Charmee along with Puri Jagannadh. iSmart Shankar has Brahmanandam, Rao Ramesh, Tanikella Bharani, Pavithra Lokesh among others in supporting roles. Mani Sharma had composed music for this flick with Raj Thota cranking the camera and Junaid Siddiqui in charge of the editing. Shaik Jonny is the art director of iSmart Shankar with stunts choreographed by Real Satheesh.
Ram Pothineni is seen sporting a spikey hairdo with beard in the movie and it has gone well with the audiences. iSmart Shankar is a science fiction film with all the commercial elements included.
It may be noted that Puri Jagannadh had directed Paisa Vasool with N Balakrishna in the lead but this bombed big time at the box office. He then directed Mehbooba which had his son Akash in the lead role but this film also failed to impress the audience. With iSmart Shankar, Puri Jagannadh is back on track.
