India may see its first Disneyland being set up soon in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.

Though the talks are still in the initial stages, the State Government has sought information for the requirements like land for setting up a Disneyland along the lines of the one in Paris.

Disney Land and Universal Studios are amongst the biggest tourism attractions around the world. They are both yet to set up their mega theme parks in India.

If a Disneyland is set up in the port city, it would greatly boost the tourism sector of the state. The government is trying to identify the 2000 acres of land required for the theme park with a beach view.

Leading hotels around the world, many theme parks and water parks will set up their operations in Vizag if Disney decides to invest in the country.

Disneyland in currently in 5 destinations around the world and Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu hopes to make India the 6th.

More details are yet to emerge but the government is said to be actively pursuing the proposal.
