The News Minute | February 9, 2015 | 06:42 pm IST Over the years social media has emerged as one of the most popular platforms used by celebrities to reach out to their fans. In what could be considered a double-edged sword, the same platform can be used by some to abuse and exploit others- all the while having the option to hide behind the shroud of anonymity. Jude Anthany, the director of super hit Malayalam movie Om Shanthi Osana, got to experience the ugly side of the virtual world first hand. In a post that Anthany published on Saturday, he claims that he is being abused by a person on Facebook. Anthany wrote, 'This guy had abused me through Facebook message long back. I filed a case in Cyber cell and the Inspector asked me whether to continue or not. I withdrew my complaint considering that guy's future. But yesterday he has done it again so filing a new one against him. He is from Iritty(Kannur) . If anyone knows the whereabouts of this guy, please forward the details so that I can pass it on to the Cyber cell.'The director also posted the link to the person's page, one Hashir Muhammed, who has allegedly been abusing him. The page of the alleged abuser however reveals very little- the profile picture is an illustration of a person standing with their back facing the front. A message on it reads, 'I'll be back'.  Some other basic information is available, however, the accuracy of it cannot be vouched for. Anthany had called the performance by Mohanlal's band Lalisom, during the opening ceremony of the National Games in Kerala, 'boring' and a 'flop'. "I couldn't resist saying the program was really boring", Anthany said. It is following this comment that the troll apparently hit back at Anthany and abused him. TweetFollow @thenewsminuteRead: I feel powerful: Confessions of abusive Indian trolls
