Tamil Nadu BJP leader Tamilisai Soundararajan is a bit of a favourite with the state’s trolls and meme makers. And a recent award that the leader reportedly won has sent them working overtime.
Recently, the President of the Tamil Nadu unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party was conferred the ‘Distinguished Service and Excellence Leadership Award 2017’ by the International Human Rights Peace Commission. The award was conferred to her in a ceremony in Chennai.
However, the award was widely reported to be for ‘Best Female Leader’ or ‘Best Indian Woman Politician in 2017’. As to why this is, your guess is as good as ours.
“No matter which award it is, I dedicate it to the people and my party. These awards give me a boost to do my work more dedicatedly. According to me, I’m a strong BJP leader till now. In this regard, there is no chance of change in the leadership. There are a lot of rumours, but nothing else,” she told Thanthi TV after winning the award.
Social media, however, couldn’t digest it. One Twitter user wanted to know on what basis she got the award.

In October 2017, Tamilisai was renamed to ‘Dumilisai’ on her Wikipedia page. ‘Dumeel’ translates to ‘sound of gun.’
Since it is Tamilisai we are talking about, can BJP National Secretary H Raja really be left behind?

In this meme, BJP National Secretary H Raja and 'Dumeel' (supposed to be Tamilisai) are speaking.
H Raja tells Dumeel: "Hey Dumeel, so you're going to use this (the award) you'll become an MLA in Tamil Nadu, then you'll make the lotus bloom in the state and you'll become a big person. And I'll have to campaign for you and put your posters up. Do I look like an idiot?"
