The News Minute | February 24, 2015 | 9.20 ISTSome days after a photograph showing a student lying on the laps of his female classmates was doing rounds on social media, the principal of the college where the students study, has suspended six of them.The college had set up a committee to conduct an internal inquiry and the committee decided to suspend the students until further notice. Since Friday, a photograph showing six students has been circulating on social media, showing a male student lying on the laps of five girls who are sitting in a row on a wooden bench in a classroom. Two other boys are also seen in the photo.Read: A playful photo moment takes communal turn in Mangaluru, one boy assaultedThe committee which suspended the students has said that they were suspended for bringing phones to college in violation of rules and for misconduct.After the photograph was circulated, one of the students in the photograph, Mohammed Riyaz, was allegedly kidnapped and assaulted by around 10 unidentified men in an isolated spot and later brought back to his locality in Suratkal, around 20 km from Mangaluru.
