The News Minute | June 25, 2014 | 8:40 AM IST  Underworld don Dawood Ibrahim's aide has been arrested in a case in Kerala on charges of conspiracy. The case relates to shooting at the house of M T Muhammed Kunji, a business man. The aide, Abdul Hameed alias Puttu, 40, was arrested for conspiring behind the two incidents of firing in 2010 and 2013. An Indian Express report says that according to the police Hameed was involved in the fake currency racket along with MK Abdullah, Dawood's accomplice. He is also said to have links to Ravi Pujari, who is believed to be behind the extortion calls  who allegedly made extortion calls to Bollywood stars. In 2006, Hameed, a native of Mangalore, was arrested by the Maharashtra Anti-Terror Squad after he was deported from Dubai in a fake currency case. Later, Hameed was jailed in Bangalore after being convicted in a fake currency case. In the case of Kunji, Hameed and Ravi Pujari conspired to extort money from him. Police said Hameed had conspired with Ravi Pujari and others to extort Rs 50 crore from Kunji.  In the case, the arrest of Hameed’s associate Ali alias Munna in Mangalore helped police reach Hameed.
