New smartphones are introduced in the market almost on a daily basis and each phone has its own unique features and any apple-to-apple comparison becomes difficult. But some phones do offer themselves for comparison. The Coolpad Cool Play 6 and the Lenovo K8 Note can be compared and the similarities and differences reviewed.

Design and Display

Both the Cool Play 6 and the Lenovo K8 Note sport metal unibodies and have identical 5.5-inch full HD display and even the screen resolution is the same 1080x1920pixels.

CPU

The processor fitted in the Cool Play 6 is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 SoC while the Lenovo K8 Note sports a deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 (MT6797) processor. The higher rated processor on the Lenovo K8 Note with a clocking speed of 2.3GHz, naturally, can be expected to offer a better performance than the one on the Cool Play 6 which has a clocking speed of a much lower 1.4GHz.

OS, RAM and ROM

The Android Nougat version 7.1.1 is the OS on both the phones and the user experience may not be grossly different from each other.

On the RAM front, the Lenovo K8 Note comes in two variants, 3GB and 4GB RAM and the corresponding internal memory storage levels are 32GB and 64GB respectively. There is the microSD card slot to expand the storage to 256GB.

On the Cool Play 6, however, the RAM is larger at 6GB and the memory in the phone 64GB. This cannot be expanded further.

Camera

Both the phones sport dual camera setups in the rear, which is one of their major similarity. However, the sensors are different. The Coolpad Cool Play 6 smartphone has two identical 13MP cameras in the rear with dual LED flash support and an 8MP front camera for selfies. The Lenovo K8 Note, on the other hand, has a 13MP and a 5MP sensor on the back with the dual tone flash and the front camera is also 13MP in size.

Battery

Here again, the two phones enjoy a similarity: an identical 4000mAh battery adorns both the Coolpad Cool Play 6 and the Lenovo K8 Note. As additional features, Lenovo claims it has a 15W turbocharger, Coolpad says its battery should actually be rated as 4500mAh since there are specific software solutions to optimize the battery’s functioning.

Some of the other features which are also common to both the smartphones being compared here include the fingerprint scanner, the connectivity options like 4G VoLTE and so on.

Pricing

When it comes to the pricing of the phones, the Lenovo K8 Note is being sold at Rs 12, 999 and Rs 13, 999 for the 3GB and 4GB RAM variants. This is Rs. 1, 000 less that the price at which the 6GB Coolpad Cool Play 6 smartphone.
