With the criminal investigation department cracking both Chemistry paper leaks, students can perhaps write their re-exam on Tuesday without having to fear another leak.

The Karnataka PU department is taking the help of multiple government departments to ensure a smooth exam.

The investigating officers have found that the same team of racketeers were behind both II PU Chemistry paper leaks, on March 21 and March 31. However, they are yet to nab the main accused and the PU department insiders who were accomplices, reported The Times of India.

The department is employing the officials of Regional Transport Office to prevent any problem in vehicles transporting papers and armed policeman will secure the question papers in each vehicle, reported TOI.

So far CID has arrested five people including a minister’s PA, based on the trail of WhatsApp messages sent by several PU teachers.

The alleged main accused, Shivakumaraiah alias Shivakumar alias Guruji has been absconding since the investigation commenced. They have found that the team copied the paper from the treasury both the times.

CID claims that once they nab Shivakumar, he might lead them to department officials who have given them access to the treasury.

“The question paper of March 21 exam was sold anywhere between Rs 3,000 and Rs 6,000.The question paper of the re-exam was sold at Rs 8,000 and above,” sources said.
