Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, after the birth of her daughter Aaradhya, has been choosing her roles carefully.

Following a five-year sabbatical, post delivery, Aishwarya starred in Sanjay Gupta’s directorial Jazba, Sarbjit directed by Omung Kumar and then in the Karan Johan film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

Being very selective about the roles she takes up, Aishwarya has been now been reportedly offered a role in Chiranjeevi’s upcoming film, a biopic on Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy.

Apparently it is a role that requires a matured and seasoned actor like Aishwarya and makers are keen on casting her.

However, the actor is yet to give her nod. In a long career spanning over two decades, Aishwarya has starred in a number of Telugu films but this will be her first direct film in Telugu in a lead role.

She made a special appearance in the song 'Love to Live' in the movie Ravoyi Chandamama in 1999, which had Nagarjuna in the lead role.

Crowned Miss World in 1994, Aishwarya Rai made her acting debut with the Mani Ratnam directorial Iruvar in which she shared the screen space with Mohanlal and Prakash Raj. The film’s Telugu dubbed version was released along with the Tamil version.

Some of her other films dubbed in Telugu were Priyuralu Pilichindi, the Telugu version of Kandukondein Kandukondein and Jeans dubbed in Telugu with the same title.

'Mega Star' Chiranjeevi staged a comeback as hero with Khaidi No 150 earlier this year and the film fared well at the box office.

Following its immense success, the actor decided to play the role of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy in the biopic.

Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy is an unsung hero who fought the British even before the 1857 revolt known as the Indian Rebellion of 1857. He was hanged to death by the British in 1847.
