The makers of superstar Rajinikanth-starrer 2.0, a sequel to Shankar’s 2010 blockbuster Enthiran, have finally pulled up their socks. Having managed to complete only two-thirds of the film so far in 150 days, Shankar and his team are now working round the clock to wrap up the film without further delay. With Rajinikanth being out of action for nearly two months owing to health issues, the team’s plan to complete at least 70 per cent of the project by November has come unstuck.
The team recently completed their Chennai schedule and an elated Amy Jackson, who plays the leading lady, shared the news on her Twitter page. "With @superstarrajini himself, it's a wrap for our Robot 2.0 schedule,” she wrote. In the Chennai schedule, the team is said to have shot a song and an action sequence with Rajini and Amy Jackson.
Also starring Akshay Kumar as the antagonist, apart from Sudhanshu Pandey and Adil Hussain, the film is being made on a lavish budget of Rs 350 crore. The first look of the film will be launched in a grand event at Mumbai in November, and the theatrical release has been pushed to Diwali 2017.
