CBI raided my office to look for files on corruption in DDCA relating to Arun Jaitley: Arvind Kejriwal

After union ministers Arun Jaitley and Ravi Shankar Prasad as well as the CBI denied that it had raided the Delhi CM’s office earlier in the day, Arvind Kejriwal termed the CBI’s claim a blatant lie on Tuesday.

Kejriwal said that the CBI had actually come looking for files relating to alleged corruption in the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA), linked to Arun Jaitley, who was the president of the body for several years.

"Which file was the CBI looking for in my office? DDCA files in which Arun Jaitley is in the dock. I was about to order a commission of enquiry," the Delhi CM said.

"I don't think I need to react to rubbish," Jaitley was quoted as telling reporters soon after.

Accusing the CBI of working at the behest of the BJP-led central government, Arvind Kejriwal said, "Rajendra Kumar is just an excuse, Kejriwal is the target."

He added, "There are never files older than that of 10-14 days in the CM’s office."

He further said if the CBI was sincere in its effort to look into the alleged corruption against the bureaucrat, they should have raided other departments of the Delhi Secretariat such as the education or the IT department.

Responding to criticism for calling PM Modi a "coward" and "psychopath", Kejriwal said, "My language may be bad, but your actions are unjustifiable. You (PM Modi) apologise to the country for your actions and I will apologise for my words."
