The makers of the Chiranjeevi starrer Khaidi No 150 first approached Catherine Tresa for a special song in the movie, but later offered it to someone else.

When most of the actresses in the Telugu film industry wouldn’t have missed the opportunity for an appearance in Chiranjeevi’s comeback film, Catherine seemed to have opted out for reasons, best known to her and the filmmakers.

The Sarrainodu actress was questioned about her exit from the prestigious project recently in an interview, to which she replied that the explanation should come from the filmmakers.

There were reports at that time that Catherine and Chiranjeevi’s eldest daughter, Sushmita, who was the costume designer for the film, had some creative difference which led to the former’s ouster from the project.

With Catherine refusing to speak about what had happened, the matter is best left to rest.

Directed by VV Vinayak, the film was presented by Surekha Konidela with Ram Charan producing it under their banner Konidela Production Company.

Lyca Productions had distributed this magnum opus. A remake of the Tamil blockbuster Kaththi that had Vijay in the lead, the film had music composed by Devi Sri Prasad with R. Rathnavelu wielding the camera and Gautham Raju editing it.

Kajal Agarwal had paired up with Chiranjeevi in the film. This action drama was made on a budget of Rs. 50 crore and went on to collect about Rs. 164 crore at the box office worldwide.

Chiranjeevi is currently gearing up to star in the biopic of the legendary freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy. The groundwork is on and the film is expected to go on to the floors in September. Reports suggest that Amitabh Bachchan and Sudeep will be seen in important roles in this flick.
