Malayalam superstar Mohanlal is riding high on success with his films doing well at the box office continuously.
Oppam, Pulimurugan, Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol, 1971: Beyond Borders, and Velipadinte Pusthakam have all done well at the box office and the star is currently busy with Villain slated for release this year and Odiyan early next year.
And now, news has surfaced that Mohanlal has inked a deal to work with Bollywood director Ajoy Varma, who is all set to make his debut in the Malayalam film industry.
Reports say that the film will go on to the floors as soon as Mohanlal is done with Odiyan. The shooting of this VA Shrikumar Menon directorial is currently on and is progressing at breakneck speed.
Speaking about his film to the Times of India, director Ajoy Varma had said, "It's a drama-thriller. Mumbai, Pune and Sri Lanka will be the locations for the movie which will be shot this December and January."
Saju Thomas has penned the script for it.
The director pointed out that he was set on casting Mohanlal for the film after he finished the script work. In this regard, he was quoted by TOI as saying, “Once we finished scripting the movie, we met Lal sir and he liked the script. We are now finalising a few more details before we can reveal more about his character or the rest of the cast.”
With the Bollywood film SRK to his credit, Ajoy Varma began his career in the film industry as an editor. He then went on to assist noted directors such as Ram Gopal Varma, John Matthew Mathan and Rajiv Anchal.
