The intrigue surrounding the case of abduction and assault of a female star in Kerala in February 2017 seems to be never ending.

The prime accused in the case Pulsar Suni aka Sunil Kumar told media that ‘big sharks’ were yet to be caught in the case. He said this while he was brought to Angamali Judicial First-Class Magistrate Court. The court has extended his judicial custody to July 18th.

The remand period has been extended by the court as Suni did not appeal for bail. Advocate BA Aloor told media outside the court that Suni fears that he might be killed if he came out. “He has threats outside the jail, that is why he did not appeal for bail,” Aloor said.

Suni also claimed in the court that he had been tortured by police.

Suni requested the court to change his advocate and informed the court that he wanted BA Aloor to attend his case. Aloor has a notorious reputation of taking up sensational cases and representing the accused in these cases.

Following Suni’s request, his previous lawyer Teni questioned his decision and added that ‘advocates never go to jail to get cases for them’, mocking Aloor who had earlier visited Suni in jail.

However, this resulted in a clash of words between Aloor and Teni inside the court room, and the Magistrate warned Aloor not to speak unnecessary things inside the court.

Meanwhile, Minister for Fisheries, J Mercikutty Amma told media that within two days there will be significant development in the case.

There were unconfirmed reports that permission has been granted to arrest the suspects in the conspiracy surrounding the crime. Reports also suggest that some of the people being questioned in relation to the case, including actors Dileep and Nadishah, have been asked not to leave Ernakulam.

Reports also say that police have received visuals of the actor being assaulted. The actor was taken around in a van by a group of men and assaulted. They had allegedly captured the assault on mobile phones, to blackmail her with it. What they perhaps did not expect was that she would go ahead and file a complaint, despite being an actor who is always in the public glare.
