The Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan has put an end to all speculations about being a part of the magnum opus Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy by posting his look on his blog. With this, he has dispelled all rumours and has made it clear that he is a part of the star cast.
Reports are that Amitabh Bachchan will be seen in a small but powerful role in Sye Raa. Yes, he will be playing Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy’s mentor in the movie. Incidentally, the character Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy will be essayed by the megastar Chiranjeevi.
Based on the life of this freedom fighter who fought the British much before the Sepoy Mutiny, the biopic is directed by Surendhar Reddy and produced by Ram Charan under his banner Konidela Production Company. The film is being made on a budget of Rs 150 crores.
It was reported that Amitabh Bachchan wrote on his blog: “Dear friend Chiranjeevi, that majestic superstar and icon from the world of Andhra and Telugu cinema, requests for a guest appearance in his magnum opus, on a most valiant period character that he portrays, and I agree .. so am off to begin its shoot in Hyderabad .. in a few hours .. the first look tests of which seem to be somewhat , thus .. (sic).”
It’s been Chiranjeevi’s long-time desire to play a historic character. A lot of research has gone into the project as there were very few materials available on the legendary freedom fighter, say sources close to the team.
The film has a bevy of stars in the cast including Vijay Sethupathi, Sudeep, Nayanthara, Pragya Jaiswal and Brahmaji. The shooting of this film is currently on at a set erected in Hyderabad and will go on for some more weeks.
To hit the silver screens later this year or early next, its makers are planning to release in various languages including Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada etc. With Big B’s look in the film out, fans are waiting to know about the other stars’ get-ups.
