Bengaluru: Goods vehicles banned during peak morning hours on Hebbal flyover

In a bid to ease traffic near Hebbal flyover, the Bengaluru Traffic Police have implemented major changes in vehicular movement along the stretch. Bengaluru police issued a traffic advisory stating that the movement of all types of goods vehicles will be banned from 8.30 am to 10.30 am from Sadahalli gate to Hebbal flyover, starting from Friday, November 18.

This move comes after newly appointed Special Commissioner (Traffic) MA Saleem appealed to road users to suggest practical solutions. After his visit to the Hebbal flyover, he said, “Visited Hebbal flyover and Kempapura junction to observe traffic congestion in peak hours. There is need to reduce waiting time in this junction. Movement of all types of goods vehicles will be banned from 8.30 am to 10.30 am from the Sadahalli Gate till Hebbal flyover to reduce traffic snarls on the Intl Airport Road during peak hours. The ban on a pilot basis will last a month.

MA Saleem, a veteran police officer who previously oversaw traffic in Bengaluru, was appointed as Special Commissioner (Traffic) on November 14. He is renowned for being one of the few policemen who is passionate about traffic management and has worked in various roles to control traffic in Bengaluru for one of the longest periods of time.
