Chandra Prakash Garg, CEO of an online education firm who was accused of sexual harassment by an employee, has been acquitted of all charges.
“Acting under Section 248(1) of CrPC accused is acquitted for the offense punishable under section 354 A and 509 of IPC,” the court order, dated January 29, said.
The order also mentioned that an eyewitness in the case had turned hostile and did not support the prosecution version. Other eye witness were not examined by the prosecution though sufficient time had been provided.
The victim in her complaint had claimed that the CEO of Global Shiksha India Pvt Ltd, Chander Prakash Garg had constantly made inappropriate comments. The complainant had also alleged that the company did not have a sexual harassment committee or a grievance cell.
Koramangala police had registered a case against Garg for sexual harassment on October 26. He was released on bail after being produced before the court.
